10/24/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
10/24/15 19:47 Double A1055914 and Mocha A1055915 are being surrendered because they were left at the finder’s apartment The finder states that the owner moved out of the apartment and left the dogs behind. She is unable to care for them. She says that they are both very well trained, were walked twice a day by her aunt, and were being fed Pedigree dry food. They both got along very well with her daughter and they play well with the other children in the home. Behavior during intake Double and Mocha were shy. Double approached with a wagging tail and loose body. Mocha was fearful and tried to hide behind the finders legs. They both allowed me to scan(-), collar and photograph them. They allowed to be leashed and transferred into a kennel.
10/28/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Remember the old commercial: “Double your pleasure, double your fun, with Doublemint, Doublemint, Doublemint gum”…. Well, as soon as I met Double I started singing it as I knew that with Double everything would be twice as much fun! He’s an awesome looking boy in his clean white coat, the perfect weight for his size and a tail that never stops wagging. Found with his friend Mocha (A1055915) when their owner moved and left them behind, the person who brought them into us told us he gets along with kids, was great with the finder’s young daughter, and that both Mocha and Double are well trained and accustomed to being walked 2x a day. Double pulled hard on the leash, is likely housetrained, comes when called, gives great hugs and snorts with the pleasure of it all. I love a dog who snorts! Not interested in a ball or a toy as of this writing, Double was happy just giving me hugs and I was happy to give them back! In his first group play experience he was “gentle and dainty” when he engaged in brief play. Trying to figure out why he’s no longer with his person in his home with his housemate, Double is making the best out of his new situation. Sweet, affectionate and happy to make new friends, Double is hoping to count you among them. Ask to meet him today.
10/27/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Double pulls a bit on the leash. He was sociable when he meet the assessor with a soft body, wagging tail. Double was calm and relaxed during handling the look and the sensitivity item but showed some concern during the tag interaction body checking the assessor and growled. For safety reason the behavior team skip the squeeze item. Double did not resist being handled while eating, and was easily pushed out of the food bowl. He was not interested in toys and show minimal interest on the rawhide The behavior department feels that he would do best if placed with a New Hope partner who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification before placement into a permanent home. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft or squinty, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag: 5. body checking and growls Food: 1. Dog lifts head and ceases eating when you reach to pull the bowl away or push him out. Toy: 1. No interest. Rawhide: 1. Minimal interest.
