07/16/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
07/16/15 12:46 Dice is a black and white lab American Pit Bull Terrier mix that is around 10 months. He has been with his owner since he was a pup. Dice was surrendered due to the owner not having any time to care for him. Dice has only lived with adults and it is unknow how he is with chilren, other dogs, or cats. He is house trained and it is rare fo him to have a potty accident in the home. He will dig i the back yard and he destoyed a few bags filled up with empty bottles and cans. Besides that he is well behaved when left unattended. He does not guard his food bowl, bones or toys. And his owner says he love, love, loves the water and doens’t mind being bathed with the hose or in the shower. HE liked to sleep in the bed with his human and play with balls and squeaky toys. He likes when his owner throws his toys so he can go get them.. He will bring them back, but not drop them. Dice wants you to chase him. He eats dry Blue Buffalo and grazes on it all day. At intake, he allowed all handling from the female counelor, but barked at the male staff member a few times. He did allow the male staff member to leash him.

07/20/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Dice came to our center as an owner surrender. It is reported he has only lived with adults so behavior with children, cats, and other dogs is unknown. Owner also reports Dice will dig in the backyard and has destroyed a few bags of empty bottles and cans when left alone in the home. He allowed all handling at intake from admissions counselor. Dice allowed his head to be cupped in assessor’s hands, tail wagging. He leaned in and accepted the touch during Sensitivity item, body soft. Dice jumped and played along during Tag game, vocalizing playfully towards end of game. He did not pull his paw back on both Squeeze attempts. Dice had no interest in Food. He took away Toy with neutral body and had minimal interest in Rawhide. When off leash socially with other dogs, initally is stif and nervous. Does offer brief running play, can be a bit vocal. Sexually motivated, mount and can become defensive when corrected by handler. Tolerant. The Behavior Team feels Dice would do well in an Experienced home. He may benefit from positive reinforcement for any behavior correction. He may also benefit from obedience classes to learn crate training so he is comfortable being left alone in the home. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears back. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft or squinty, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game, indicates play with huffing, soft ‘popping’ of the body, etc. Dog jumps on Assessor once play begins, vocalizes. Squeeze 1/2: 1.
