05/21/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
05/21/15 19:24 BASIC INFO Diamond’s family got her from a friend 7 months ago and surrendered her due to lack of time and because her chewing has caused landlord conflicts. SOCIALIZATION Diamond is friendly and outgoing with strangers. She plays somewhat rough, jumping up and mouthing lightly. She’s relaxed, playful, and tolerant with other dogs. She plays somewhat rough with them. Once a dog barked at her and she backed away and whined. She’s never bit anyone. BEHAVIOR Diamond doesn’t mind storms. She plays when someone takes her treat/toy. She loves being bathed and brushed. She’s friendly when held/restrained or woken up and with strangers that approach her home/family. Doesn’t mind when someone trims her nails. When her owner takes her food she eats quickly. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Diamond’s family describes her as friendly, affectionate, playful, confident, excitable, and high energy. They love that she’s so happy and loves everyone. She loves to play and be close to her owner. She follows her everywhere. She likes to play catch, chase, and wrestle. She plays with balls, squeaky toys, and bones. She loves showering with her owner. Diamond lived inside. She ate dry puppy food and enjoyed dog treats. She’s trained to potty on wee-wee pads and doesn’t have accidents. She’s kept in the kitchen with a 3 foot puppy gate when she’s home alone. She doesn’t challenge the gate but chews door frames, cabinets, and shoes. She’s quiet and doesn’t bark much. She knows sit, down, and stay. She went for brisk walks and pulls on her leash. She played off leash at the park; she wanders but comes when called. INTAKE Diamond had a super loose wiggly body, open mouth, and wagging tail during handling-petting, scan (negative), collar, pictures, switching leashes, putting in kennel. She jumped up on and mouthed us gently.

A volunteer writes: Something fun about Diamond; she likes to take showers with her owner!! How cute is that! It’s simply impossible to walk down the street with Diamond without a chorus of ‘awwwwww’s’ and comments such as: ‘she’s a happy girl’, ‘wow she’s gorgeous’, ‘look at that smile’ and more. Indeed she’s a happy bouncy puppy wagging her tail dancing down the street. In fact her former owners said one of their favorite things about her is how happy she is all the time and that she loves everyone. I agree. There wasn’t a person or dog Diamond didn’t want to make friends with. Meeting both a Mastiff and a Toy Poodle in the park, Diamond wagged her tail appropriately and with invitation to both. We’re also told that she knows, ‘sit’, ‘down’ and ‘stay’, and is trained to go potty on wee wee pads. She’s a smart girl who loves treats so can learn to go potty outside with proper positive reinforcement training. She showed me her ‘sit’ when I asked her to, and sitting without being asked when she saw my hand go into my treat bag. Off leash in the backyard she loved a good game of fetch and letting me take the ball out of her mouth for another throw. Wiggly and happily affectionate, Diamond gives enthusiastic puppy kisses, so happy to be able to call me a friend. Fun, funny, engaging and gorgeous, Diamond is guaranteed to brighten your day, your week, your year, your life……She’s looking for an active family where lots of play time, lots of exercise and mental stimulation is available and of course lots of love! Throw in a shower and she’ll know she’s home!
