DIAMOND – A1032611
Safe 4-25-2015 Manhattan
SAFE – 04/25/15 A volunteer writes: Diamond is so pretty that she looks like a pricey stuffed toy animal I want to hug tight. This middle age little lady has been beautifully cared for. She is so spright and lively with her clear and shiny brown eyes that look decisively right into mine. She wears a fancy and silky wavy coat in the shades of red and brown. She looks healthy and quite well nourished. Diamond walks well on the leash, does her business on the way and will sit on command, mostly for treats. She loves , loves , loves food and will beg for more, more and more. She does not mind me taking some stolen roast beef from her although I can see it did hurt her feelings. Diamond knows well her name and will come right away when called. She likes to be caressed. Her ears are very bothersome and we are of course treating her for it. Diamond was relinquished as her long time owners are moving to a place not allowing dogs. She is said to be good with children and strangers and did live at some pot with other dogs. Diamond is a lovely damsel, very feminine and foxy like. She is waiting at the Manhattan Care Center to start her life again with you as your very dear new friend.

04/10/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Helper:1031952 Diamond came to us as an owner surrender on 4/08/15. It is reported by the previous owner that Diamond gets along with both children and strangers, and has lived with another dog before. She is described as getting along with the other dogs she lived with. Diamond allowed the assessor to conduct all tactile items of the assessment, but had tense and stiff body on some of the items. Though Diamond may have had stiff body language on some of the items, she never displayed any signs of aggression. She proved stiff and could not be pushed out of the food bowl, but did not growl, snap or bite. Diamond was relaxed and friendly when interacting with the helper dog. The behavior department feels that Diamond should go to an experienced owner with not children because of her potential possessive behavior over food. She go to a home that is familiar with food guarding and can provide positive behavior modification such as trade-up games. Look: 1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, her tail is between her legs, body stiff, mouth closed, lip long, ears back. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (needs coaxing to approach.) she is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1: 3. Dog closes mouth, becomes stiff. Flank squeeze: 3. Dog closes mouth, and becomes stiff. Food: 3. Dog follows the dish, her tail between her legs, ears are forward. Her body is stiff.
