10/02/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Dee previously lived with 1 adult and has been around both younger and older kids. The owner stated Dee is tolerant but he plays somewhat rough due to his size. The owner mentioned Dee is house train, crate trained and well behaved when home alone. The owner describes Dee as energetic, playful, affectionate, and independent. At intake it was reported Dee was energetic, anxious but clam down with treats, he allowed all handling. During SAFER Dee came into the assessment room loose and wiggly, he was friendly and social towards the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Dee was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Dee was easy to handle when engaged with the items. Dee can be somewhat rough during play due to his size stated from the previously owner and he also appears to be a high-energy dog that will likely do best with an adopter prepared to provide mental and physical stimulation and appropriate outlets for his energy. The behavior department feels he can be suitable for an experience adopter with no young children. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed. Food: 3. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. He does not place his body between you and the rawhide. Dog-to-dog: When off leash with other dogs Dee, greets politely and will offer correction for pushy behavior. He is sexually motivated and will continue to attempt to mount after correction.
09/27/2015 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Dee greets both males and females politely but does not seem interested in play. He is sexually motivated and continues to attempt to mount after correction. Based on his behavior in playgoup, the Behavior Department recommends that Dee can go to a home with both male and female dogs. Due to his sexually motivated behavior, we recommend that he be placed with a tolerant dog who may offer correction for mounting. When off leash with other dogs Dee is sexually motivated and will continue to attempt to mount once correction has been offered. He does not engage in play when solicited. 9/30 update: Dee greets males and females politely. He is sexually motivated and initially takes correction but then becomes persistent even after corrected. 10/1 update: Dee greets politely and will offer correction for pushy behavior.
