07/04/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Can we say that a dog has ‘bedroom eyes’? Soft, sultry, sexy……Danni sure does….she’s a stunning little girl, petite in a bronze, clean and gleaming coat, her tail what I refer to as a paintbrush tail – just a touch of a different color at the end. Happy to be coming out for a walk she goes potty right away so may be housetrained, and is good on the leash until she sees another dog she’d like to meet and then she pulls slightly. Off leash in a backyard pen she comes when I call her, joins me on the bench for some cuddles, and takes treats gently. She’s low key and calm, easy to be with, and oh, those eyes……she makes lovely eye contact with them, and really could be a model for how perfect her features are….her soft easy manner complements are soft, easy good looks perfectly. Off leash with other dogs she’s gentle and solicits play. Danni was clearly well cared for before joining us, and she’s looking for a new person or family with whom to spend the rest of her life. Her petite size makes her a good fit in just about any living situation. Ask to meet her today.
07/03/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Danni walks with a low fearful body language on leash. She was shy but friendly during the assessment – low body, but trying to stay close. Danni was shy during handling with a fearful body language. She had a low body position during the tag test, but followed the assessor at the end of the leash. Danni did not resist being handled while eating, and was easily pushed out of the food bowl. She was not interested in toys or rawhide. The behavior department feels that she may do best with an experienced adopter. Danniis somewhat fearful and needs time to warm up to the handler. Look: 2. Dog’s eyes are averted. Her body posture is stiff and fearful; her tail is low and not moving. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, shy body language , mouth closed, lip long, ears likely back, may lip lick. Food 1. Dog lifts head and ceases eating when you reach to pull the bowl away Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body low and a bit fearful. Toy 1. No interest. Rawhide 1. No interest. When off leash with other dogs Danni is initially nervous but once comfortable becomes solicitous and engages in running play.
