06/13/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Handsome Cumin is so camera shy that I couldn’t get a good picture of him, so you’ll have to take my word for how good looking he is. His coat is tan and well groomed feeling like velvet, and his tail wags in friendship to all. Happy to be out for a walk to go potty, he pulls on the leash a bit but is responsive to his person. He’s friendly but not overly solicitous, but was happy when I initiated some cuddle time and then he gave me some kisses as a thank you! Cumin seems to like other dogs wagging his tail at those we passed in the park, and in group solicits play, can sometimes be pushy, and takes correction. Named after a spice used in many cultures and said to have tons of health benefits, our Cumin is good for your health too. There is nothing like having a soft cuddly 4 legged companion with whom to navigate the world, and Cumin is ready to be that spice in your life. Ask to meet him today.
06/11/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Cumin came to us as by way of NYPD on 6/7/15. Upon intake it was reported that Cumin was relaxed and calm. He was very interested in interacting with the assessor when entering the behavior room. He allowed the assessor to conduct all tactile assessment items while maintaining soft and loose body language. Cumin could not be pushed out of the food bowl with the assess-a-hand on the food test, but did not display any signs of aggression. He proved easy to handle when chewing on the rawhide item, but showed no interest in the toy on this portion of the assessment. When interacting with another dog on leash Cumin rushed quickly over to the helper dog but had soft body language. The behavior department believes that Cumin can go to an average home. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is closed for a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1.
