10/04/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
10/04/15 19:20hrs Crash is a neutered 6 year old Shih Tzu that was cared for by his owner for the past 4 years. He is being surrendered because of personal issues. SOCIAL LIFE & PERSONALITY Crash is described as playful, mellow and affectionate. He lived with three adults but interacted with children aged 2 years old and older. Crash allows petting all over and having is belly rubbed. He also shared the home with a Maltese. He was tolerant of the other dog and would play with her. However Crash’s owner stated that if he is near his owner and the Maltese approaches them, he would growl at the Maltese. When he notices other dogs outside, Crash would wag his tail and pull towards them. BEHAVIOR Crash will allow his owner to touch his food bowl or take food from him without reacting. His owner reported that he would growl at the Maltese if she approached his food while he is eating. He is accustomed to being professionally groomed at least 1x every month or so. Crash’s owner stated that Crash will sometimes hide if he is scared by a loud sound or if he is thinks he is in trouble and if he does than the owner would wait until he comes out on his own. If the owner attempts to pull him from where he is hiding, he will nip at the owner but without breaking skin. Crash tends to bark at people passing by the front door and when people knock at the door. He is calm around strangers allowing them to approach him and his family. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Crash knows the commands “sit” and “come.” He is accustomed to being walked at least 3x a day. He is accustomed to eating Eukanuba or Pedigree dog food. He is terrified of loud sounds and will whine and hide. He likes playing with stuffed animals and games like Fetch. He normally sleeps in bed with his owner. DURING INTAKE Crash rested calmly by his owner. He allowed petting and handling. He was collared, scanned for a microchip (positive) and photographed without incident.
