06/08/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
6/2 SAFER: Crash came in as a stray, so his past behaviors in a home are unknown. During SAFER Crash was social and friendly towards the assessor. He allowed all handling to be conducted without any issues, Crash was relaxed during the tag interaction and during the resources portion of the assessment, Crash was easy to handle when engaged with the items. Crash appears to be sociable, and did not display any behaviors concerns, so the department feels she can be suitable for an “average” adopter. Look: 1. Dog leans forward or jumps up to lick the Assessor’s face with tail wagging, ears back and eyes averted. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft, soft and loose body and tail wag. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2:1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Food: No interest Toy 1: No interest. Rawhide: 1. Dog settles down close to chew, will relinquish rawhide to you. Dog-to-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Crash is initially nervous but upon greeting another dog, warms up and offers a wagging tail. He is playful and engages in some running play and is social. 6/8 update: Crash remains highly social outside his kennel, but he does not appear to be thriving in the kennel environment. He barks and growls when visited in his kennel, regardless of location and of in-kennel enrichment. It is in Crash’s best interest to move into a stable home environment as quickly as possible.
