09/29/15 18:18 BASIC INFO Cookie A1053208 is an approximately 10 year old Dalmatian Mix. She was obtained by the Owner as a gift from a neighbor. Owner had Cookie for 10 years. Owner cannot keep Cookie because they lost their job as a Superintendent and can no longer keep her in the basement where the dog resided. Cookie does not have any injuries or health concerns. SOCIALIZATION Around strangers Cookie can be friendly. She has never lived with any children but is friendly towards kids. She plays gentle with adults. Cookie has never lived with another animal. Cookie has never bitten or scratched anyone. BEHAVIOR Cookie does not have any behavior issues. During storms or fireworks, she is a little frightened. She is not bothered if you take away her food bowl, water bowl or toy. She enjoys being bathed. She loves to be pet. If an unfamiliar approaches the Owner, she barks. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Cookie is best described as friendly and affectionate. She has a medium activity level. She loves to eat and sleep. When with Cookie, she would follow the Owner around. She was kept both in and outdoors. She eats Beneful Dry food, an open bowl all day. Cookie uses the batroom in the backyard of the basement where she lived. When left alone, she is well behaved. She listens to the command sit. For exercise she would be allowed to roam loose and play in the backyard of the basement. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE Cookie was a little hyper during the intake process. She kept jumping up to owner.

Cookie pulls a bit on the leash. She was stiff and did not show social behavior during the assessment. Cookie showed some concerning during the sensitivity part of the assessment she turned and snapped at the assessor hand. We decided to skip the handling part of the assessment for safety reasons. During the resources Cookie bit the assess-a-hand during the food bowl test and was not interested in toys or rawhide. Cookie was surrender to us. Her previous family described her as friendly and affectionate. She has a medium activity level. Around strangers Cookie can be friendly. She has never lived with any children but is friendly towards kids. She plays gentle with adults. Cookie has never lived with another animal. She is not bothered if you take away her food bowl, water bowl or toy”. But during the assessment she show some concerning behavior. The behavior department feels that she would do best if placed with a New Hope partner who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification before placement into a permanent home. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 5. Dog repeatedly turns toward the Assessor’s hand with a very fast head movement and tries to bite. Toy 1: No interest. Rawhide: 1. No interest.

When off leash with other dogs Cookie greets politely and is interested but does not engage in play. 10/1 update: Cookie greets politely but is assertive and will attempt to mount the helper dog. 10/2 update: Cookie greets with a loose body but may stiffen and attempt to mount the other dog. She will offer correction when solicited.
