A volunteer writes: When I was a kid my favorite playmate was the one who was OK doing whatever I wanted to do. Cookie sounds like that kid! Surrendered by the only family she’s ever known due to landlord issues, we’re told that Cookie is friendly and calm with all people, is good with kids including babies, and knows how to be gentle with them, ignores cats and other small animals, likes dogs of all sizes and responds in play to their play style. Play rough? No problem. Play gentle? That’s good too. We’re also told she’s housetrained (she peed endlessly as soon as we were out the door), crate trained, knows sit (she showed me her sit), stay, heel and lay down. This multi talented little girl also likes to go for brisk walks, a jog, and goes on a treadmill! Cookie and I had an early morning walk to the park where she showed off her good leash manners, posed for some pictures, enjoyed some reward treats which she took gently, and while she noticed other dogs both in the park and in the backyard pen with a gentle wave of her tail didn’t pull towards them. Happily sitting at my feet for some petting as I took some notes, she gets a little bouncy from time to time and I see that playful sweet girl emerge from her calm demeanor. Beautifully taken care of and obviously much loved and well socialized, Cookie is a proven family dog hoping to find a new family to love. Sweet as the confection after which she was named, Cookie is hoping you’ll stop by to meet her today.
