A volunteer writes: Upon meeting Cook, you’d never know the heartache he’s likely been feeling in his recent past. Brought in as a stray, his finder said she intercepted a man who was about to leave Cook tied to a pole. The man explained Cook’s owner had recently passed and he could no longer care for him. So in a short period of time, Cook not only lost his master, but was about to be abandoned and now finds himself at our care center homeless and alone. One thing is for sure, Cook was likely a cherished pet. His midnight coat gleams, he is the ideal weight and his demeanor suggests he was treated with kindness. His jowls are so kissable, and he sat on the bench with me and let me smooch him as often as I liked. If that weren’t enough, Cook’s manners are impeccable, even when playing or excited, he never jumps up, is likely housetrained and is always looking to me for direction! He loves to play fetch, though with his large frame and puppy-like massive paws, he often looks like he’s just bumbling around after the elusive sphere. Cook is absolutely delicious, but the only way you can know that for sure is to come and meet him at the Brooklyn Care Center today!
