04/23/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Conure was difficult to remove from his kennel; he was in the back of the kennel with a stiff body language. Once he was out he walked with a fearful body language. He was not sociable, fearful and repeatedly attempted to get away from the handler during the assessment. Conure was shy and nervous and trembled during handling, with a fearful body language. He became very fearful while playing tag. He was not interested in food or rawhide. Conure showed some concerning behavior during toy tests – stiffening but did not escalate to a snap or bite to the assess-a-hand. He does not approach other dog, attempts to exit. The behavior department feels that he would do best if placed with a New Hope partner who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification before placement into a permanent home. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, his tail is between his legs, body stiff, mouth closed, lip long, ears likely back, may lip lick. Tag: 2. Dog is fearful but unresponsive when touched. Approaches the Assessor when the game ends. Dog is likely crouching, may have long lip or lip lick. Squeeze 1: 3. Dog closes mouth, becomes stiff. Flank squeeze 1: 3. Dog head flips while moving hip away. Food: No interest. Toy: 4. Dog freezes Rawhide: 1. No interest. Dog-dog: 2. Dog does not approach the helper dog. Meet Conure. This small senior cutie is ready and waiting for his new forever home. This 10 year old boy maybe shy but don’t get him wrong he has a big personality. Once this cute boy gets some proper TLC he most probably become your forever snuggle bunny.
Pull him today from MACC!!!
