11/23/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Coco came into our center as a stray so behaviors in the home are unknown. He was hesitant to come out of kennel and walked slowly for his relief walk, but this may be due to nail discomfort as noted in his initial medical exam. Coco seemed to wander a bit in circles in the SAFER assessment room. He was cautious but allowed handling. Coco averted his eyes and allowed his head to be cupped in assessor’s hands. He accepted the touch during Sensitivity item, lip lick, tail down. Coco was distracted and unresponsive during Tag game, wandering the room. He quickly pulled his paw back on both Squeeze attempts. Coco had no interest in Toy. When off leash with other dogs, Coco greets but is mostly sexually motivated. The Behavior Team feels Coco would do best with an Experienced owner that does not have children. He may benefit from a calm, quiet, structured environment so he can relax in his new home. Look: 2. Dog’s eyes are averted. His body posture is cautious, his tail is low and not moving. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, his tail is between his legs, body neutral, mouth closed, lip lick. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, wanders. Squeeze 1 / 2: 2. Dog quickly pulls back paw. Toy 1: No interest. dog-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Coco greets, is mostly sexually motivated and attempts to mount.
