10/03/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Coco previously lived with 1 adult and a 1 year old. The owner stated Coco is usually friendly and respectful. The owner stated when she attempted to come in between Coco and the 1 year old, Coco bit the owner leg. The owner did mention Coco is usually friendly and respectful towards them. It was reported by the owner Coco has a history of prior bites in the past. At intake it was reported Coco was nervous, growling and showing her teeth, no handling was conducted at the time. During SAFER Coco came into the assessment room nervous with her tail tucked, she was social towards the assessor with a low tail wag, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Coco follows the handler with her body low and fearful during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Coco was easy to handle when engaged with the items. During safer Coco did not show any signs of aggression but was very fearful and due to some concerns stated from the previous owner with Coco previous bite history, the behavior department feels she can be suitable for an experience adopter with no children. Look: 2. Dog’s eyes are averted. Her body posture is stiff and fearful; her tail is low and not moving. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, her tail is between her legs, body tense, mouth closed. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body low and a bit fearful. Squeeze 1 & 2: 2.
