I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 07/07/2015 from NY 11207, owner surrender reason stated was PET HEALTH.

07/07/15 12:34 Coco is a brown and white 9 year old male neutered Shih tzu who is being surrendered because the family wants him to have a better home. Coco has been in the home for 5 years. Coco lived with 1 elderly adult and no other animals. Coco has been exposed to small children and is reported to be tolerant and playful with them. He is also receptive to visitors of the home. Coco gets his exercise from leash walks and enagages for introduction when encountering other dogs. He is indifferent to cats he is exposed to on walks. Coco urinates on a wee wee pad at home but defecates outside. Coco enjoys a bath and is reported to be tolerant of nail trims. Coco does not guard his toys treats or food. He enjoys being held and being brushed. Coco enjoys squeaky toys and plays fetch with them. He know the command sit. When the family is home Coco is independent but will approach when he wants petting and play. Coco likes dry food. Upon intake Coco was quiet and receptive to introduction. Coco was loose for all handling and counselor was able to scan for microchip (negative) collar and photograph. Coco walked slowly on leash but was not resistant and was responsive to guidance.
