06/18/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Coco came to our center after biting a man and his dog. During intake she was calm and walked fine on leash. Coco allowed her head to be held in assessor’s hands, wagging her tail. She leaned in to assessor slightly during Sensitivity item, licking lips. Coco followed at the end of leash for Tag game, body soft. She settled easily at the end. Coco displayed some displacement scratching while positioning for Squeeze, but during item she low wagged her tail and did not pull her paw back. Coco rubbed her shoulder on the Food dish before she began eating. She lifted her head and ceased eating when approached by Assess-a-hand. Coco kept a firm grip on Toy and Rawhide with a loose, wiggly body. She approached the helper dog at an appropriate pace, ears forward and tail above spine level. Although Coco had social, friendly behaviors during her SAFER assessment, due to the nature of her arrival at the center she must be placed with an Experienced adopter. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears back. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1.
