Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Coco previously lived with adults and children ages 7 and 12 years old. She was reported to be relaxed, playful, and respectful towards everyone in the household, and was said to be playful and gentle towards other dogs she sees when on walks. It was noted that Coco is mostly kept indoors and her activity level is high. The Owner best described Coco as playful, confident, excitable, friendly and independent. It was also mentioned that Coco is very hose trained as well as crate trained. At intake Coco was reported to be excitable, but was very sociable and tolerant of all handling. During SAFER Coco was receptive to attention, but was not attention seeking. She was tolerant of all handling items, and was playful during the tag interaction. During the resources portion of the assessment Coco did show some concerns. When attempting to pull the food bowl away Coco bit the assess-a hand and when the assessor approached to remove the toys and rawhide items, Coco became stiff, while giving a hard stare and growled. Due to this behavior the department recommends placement with a New Hope partner so that the behaviors seen can be more fully explored. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted.
