05/11/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Chris arrived at our center on 5/4/2015. He chewed leash upon walking for his relief walk. Chris jumped up on assessor playfully before assessment began. He allowed his head to be cupped in assessor’s hands for Look item, averting his eys. Chris accepted the touch during Sensitivity item with a sot body and lip long. He chewed leash during Tag game, following at the end of the leash but not fully engaged, and needed coaxing to reapproach assessor at the end. Chris had no response to both Squeeze attempts. He required a moderate amount of pressure to lift his head from the food bowl while eating. Chris had minimal interest in Toy and Rawhide. Chris played with both male and female dogs outside respectfully. The Behavior Team feels Chris would do well in an Average home, but may benefit from additional behavior classes to learn leash manners and not to jump up. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears back. He allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, his tail is between his legs, body stiff, mouth closed, lip long, ears likely back, may lip lick. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (may need coaxing to approach.) He is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed or back. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed or back. Food: 2. Dog follows the dish with his tail down, body soft. Dog lifts head after a bit of pressure from hand to cheek. Toy: 1. Minimal interest in Toy, dog may smell and/or lick, then turns away. Rawhide: 1. Minimal interest in rawhide, dog may smell and/or lick, then turns away. Dog-to-dog: Dog solicits play with both male and female dogs, respectful.
