I am a neutered male red norfolk terrier. The shelter thinks I am about 5 YEARS old.
I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 06/23/2015 from NY 10451, owner surrender reason stated was ALLERGIES.

06/23/15 18:17 BASIC INFO Choreo’s family got him as a gift from a family member 4 years ago and surrendered him due to allergies. SOCIALIZATION Choreo is shy with new people for a few minutes. He lived with 2 children ages 0-2 and was relaxed, playful, and tolerant with them. He played exuberantly with the children and a little rough with adults. He lived with 2 large female dogs and a cat. He took 2 days to warm up to the dogs. He’s relaxed, playful, and tolerant with the dogs and cat and cuddles and sleeps with them. He plays somewhat rough with the dogs. Small male and female dogs visited him. He avoided them. When the female approached, he walked away. When the male approached, he growled and snapped. Choreo hasn’t bit any people or animals. BEHAVIOR Choreo doesn’t mind storms. He’s friendly when held or woken up. He doesn’t mind being moved off furniture or brushed. He was a little nervous during baths but is becoming used to it. He growls when someone takes his food/treat/toy. He barks when strangers come over until he sniffs them. He growls when strangers approach his family, especially the children. He’s friendly with familiar people that approach him and his family. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Choreo’s family describes him as friendly, affectionate, playful, shy, excitable, and high energy. His owner likes that he has a hop to his step. He occasionally follows his family around. He plays chase, catch, and fetch, and likes ropes and squeaky toys. He lived inside and slept on a dog bed. He ate dry Pedigree dog food and enjoyed dog treats. He’s mostly housetrained but urinates a small amount when excited a few times per week. Every few months, he urinates and empties his bladder when frightened. He potties in grass. He’s well-behaved when home alone in the house. While alone in the yard, he jumps over the 5′ fence. He knows sit, down, stay, stand up, and speak. He went for walks and runs. He doesn’t pull on his leash and stays close to his owner while off leash. INTAKE Choreo had a soft body and open mouth near his owner and while he held him. He became a little tense and licked his lips when we approached and scanned him (-). His owner collared him and put him in a kennel.

Choreo came to our center as an owner surrender due to family member’s allergies. Owner reports he has lived with infants and young children, as well as two large dogs and cat. Owner states he takes a few days to warm up, he took two days to become comfortable around the other two dogs but then was relaxed and tolerant, cuddling and sleeping with the cat . Owner also states Choreo would growl if attempting to take his Food away, and growls if strangers approach the family, especially the children. Also reported if left alone in the yard Choreo has hopped over a five foot fence. Upon intake, Choreo had a soft body and open mouth near his owner and while he held him. He became a little tense and licked his lips when admissions counselor approached and scanned him. His owner collared him and put him in a kennel. Choreo was stiff, growling and lunging when coming out of kennel for his relief walk. He raised his lip during Look item. Choreo had no interest in Food, Toy, or Rawhide, this may be due to fearfulness in his current environment. Choreo did not interact with other dogs during playgroup. Due to his lunging and reports of growling in various circumstances, Choreo must be placed with a New Hope partner that can take the time to allow Choreo to relax and warm up in his new environment. Look: 5. Dog freezes, raises lip. Food: No interest Toy 1: No interest. Rawhide: 1. No interest. Dog-to-Dog: When off leash with other dogs, Choreo is not interested in interacting and sits on the bench to avoid interaction.
