Chewy was a bit difficult to remove from his kennel giving a low growl and showing teeth with his body stiff. Once he was out Chewy walks calmly on leash. He was focused on objects in the room during handling. Chewy becomes extremely frightened during the tag interaction, tail tucked, and trying to exit room. He was not interested in food, toys or rawhide. Chewy does not approach other dog, attempts to exit. Chewy was surrender to us. Owner says Chewy doesn’t like being around other pets and will bark and growl at them. Owner says Chewy snaps if you attempt to take his food bowl, toys, or treats”. Because of his behavior at the shelter and his owner profile information the behavior department feels that he may do best with an experienced adopter who can follow up on this behavior.
