11/28/15 09:17 Basic Info: Chevy is a 9 month old neutered male pit bull mix. He is desribed as very playful and very friendly. He loves to play and be around people and other animals. Social Life and Personality: This pup has a lot of energy and loves people. He might do best in a home with kids 10 years and up because his style of play may be a bit rough. He does have accidents a couple times per month. Chevy is used to spending a lot of his day in the back yard. He is highly active and very playful. Behavior during intake: This dog was soft body and jumping up a lot during intake. The dog responded very well to treats. He sat and took the treat very gentle. He pulls on the leash a lot and trys to playfully bite it.

12/02/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Chevy previously lived with 1 adult. The owner stated Chevy is very playful, has a lot of energy and loves people. It was reported by the owner Chevy doesn’t like cats he would give them a chase. The owner mentioned Chevy is house trained to use the wee-wee pads in the house but may have accident a couple times per month. At intake it was reported Chevy was jumping a lot but with soft body posture onto the counselor, he also knows the command “sit”, he did allow all handling. During SAFER Chevy came into the assessment room loose and wiggly with high energy, he was friendly and extremely playful towards the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Chevy joins the game but slowly de-escalates once the game ends during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Chevy was easy to handle when engaged with the items. Chevy appears to be a high-energy dog that will likely do best with an adopter prepared to provide mental and physical stimulation and appropriate outlets for his energy, so the behavior department feels he can be suitable for an experience adopter. Look: 1. Dog leans forward or jumps up to lick the Assessor’s face with tail wagging, ears back and eyes averted. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft or squinty, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Or dog indicates play with huffing, soft ‘popping’ of the body, and slowly de-escalates once the game ends. Dog jumps on Assessor once play begins. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed. Toy 1: 2. Dog takes toy away, keeps a firm hold. His body is between you and the toy, and he is loose and wiggly. No growling or stiffness. Dog-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Chevy engages in rough play with other playful males. He takes correction well when he becomes too pushy and shows proper play skills like role reversals and self-handicapping.
