A volunteer writes: Hellllllllllllo gorgeous! In her caramel and white coat, her face like a jigsaw puzzle, Cheeta is a beauty! Her coat is clean and groomed, her weight perfect for her size, and as we take some pictures in the park her amber eyes meet mine with softness and intelligence. A hint of a smile on her face promises some fun later on off leash and she delivers! She chases a ball, does a partial retrieve, and gives me a big smile and happy tail wag as she waits for another throw. Her eyes are bright and sparkling as she greets a dog in an adjoining pen, lifts her head up to listen to the birds chirp, and comes when I call her. She takes treats gently and is in tune with her person, listening well. Good in play group she’s tolerant and respectful of other dogs, and seems especially tolerant of the nervous dogs. Good girl, Cheeta! Cheeta goes potty as soon as we’re out the door and could use a little leash training as she pulls hard on the leash. Acing her behavior assessment, Cheeta is looking for an active home in which walks, playtime and maybe even another canine sibling are available. She’s gorgeous, friendly, affectionate and everything she should be. Let’s get her home today!
04/24/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Cheeta pulls a bit on leash. She was sociable toward the handler during the assessment – soft body. She was calm and relaxed during handling. Cheeta was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. Cheeta did not resist being handled while eating, and was easily pushed out of the food bowl. She was not interested in toys or rawhide. Cheeta did not show any concern during the behavior assessment. The behavior department feels that she can go to an Average home. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (may need coaxing to approach.) She is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Food: 1. Dog lifts head and ceases eating when you reach to pull the bowl away Toy 1. No interest. Rawhide 1.
