A volunteer writes: A gorgeous, slender, perfectly formed young dog in an orange coat glances up at me as I pass…..’is it my turn yet?’ he seems to ask….so I made it his turn! Taking care of his business the moment we were outside tells me he’s likely housetrained, and then it was play time, snuggle time, belly rub time, kissing time…..anytime is a good time for Champ! Play bowing to a dog in an adjoining pen it’s clear that he’d love a play date and when that wasn’t happening at that moment he decided I was the next best thing. He jumps for attention so we played ball, and while he doesn’t fetch he loves bunny hopping in chase, coming back empty handed (mouthed) but clearly having a good time. He’s playful and energetic, stopping to get serious, and put on his ‘this is me being serious’ face when it was time to take come pictures. Joining me in my lap for some hugs and kisses, he does that with enthusiasm as well, happy for the attention and doing a semi roll as a start of a belly rub. When Champ got too hot he crawled under the bench to find some shade, getting a brief rest before resuming our snuggle fest. Champ is young, energetic and exuberant looking for his soul mate. He’d love an active family where lots of exercise and play time is the norm, all of course, followed up by lots of snuggles.
