08/29/15 16:17 Basic Info: Carly is a 14 year old spayed dog who has no known injuries but does have a skin irritation. Social life and Personality: According to owner she is relaxed and respectful around children (lived with a 9 and 1 1/2 year old) but did not play. She has not been around other dogs or cats so her behaviors are unknown. She is partially house trained and kept mostly indoors. She has a medium to low level of energy and was described as playful, affectionate, fearful, and friendly. Behavior: She has never bitten anyone or any animal before. She is not bothered when owner took food, toys, treats, or other objects. She is afraid of getting a bath or being brushed and when unfamiliar people approach the house or family member she is not bothered and will become friendly the more she gets to know them. New Family info: She knows the sit and come commands and is used to slow walks on leash. She will play with stuffed and squeaky toys and has never been crate trained. She will follow owner around the home and when left home alone is well behaved. She is nervous by loud noises and was fed both wet and dry food. Intake Behavior: During intake she would approach extended hand and allow all handling without aggression. When scanned was negative for a microchip and when touched had soft, relaxed body.

Carly walks with a low fearful body language on leash. She was shy but friendly during the assessment – low body, but trying to stay close. Carly was shy during handling with a fearful body language. She was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. Carly was not interested in food, toys or rawhide. She does not approach other dog, attempts to exit. Carly was surrender to us. According to owner she is relaxed and respectful around children (lived with a 9 and 1 1/2 year old) but did not play. She has not been around other dogs or cats so her behaviors are unknown. She has a medium to low level of energy and was described as playful, affectionate, fearful, and friendly”.The behavior department feels that she may do best with an experienced adopter. Carly is somewhat fearful and needs time to warm up to the handler. Look: 2. Dog’s eyes are averted. Her body posture is stiff and fearful; her tail is low and not moving. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, shy body language , mouth closed, lip long, ears likely back, may lip lick. Tag: 2. Dog is not fearful, but is unresponsive to the Assessor, and approaches the Assessor at the end of the game (may need coaxing to approach.) she is focused on stimuli other than the Assessor. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Food. No interest. Toy 1. No interest. Rawhide 1. No interest. Dog – dog 2.
