A shelter staff member writes:
Caramelo was found tied up outside. When he arrived he was not putting any weight on his hind right leg. He appears to have a fractured femur and a torn cruciate ligament. The vet here thinks that he may have been hit by a car. Even though this puppy is injured, he has been sweet with staff, allowing handling and he appears curious about his surroundings. Caramelo needs placement directly to a vet or hospital, please let us know as soon as possible if you can help this cute puppy!
