12/23/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Spending time with Butters is like unwrapping a present at Christmas. Beautifully decorated in a caramel and white coat and decorated with one blue and one amber eye, what is inside this present is as beautiful as the way it is adorned. We chatted for a few minutes as he was at the front of his clean kennel, the only sounds being my soft words and the gentle thump of his tail. Once leashed up, we walked to the elevator where Butters immediately jumped up and hugged a male staff member while burying his head in his chest. Sigh. Once outside his first order of business is to relieve himself which he does for an eternity. Free in a pen, Butters alternated between greeting the dogs in surrounding pens and draping his body across my lap for cuddles. He has been spectacularly cared for and could easily grace the cover of any magazine. He is handsome, social, loving and neutered and is ready to come home with you today!

12/22/2015 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Butters will briefly greet other dogs, but he is anxious and easily distracted. Because of this and him coming in as a stray with no information on if he has lived with dogs, we have been unable to get an accurate read on how Butters interacts with other dogs. The behavior department recommends that Butters does not go to a home with other dogs until he is able to acclimate to his new environment. When off leash with other dogs, Butters intially offers polite greeting. He quickly becomes anxious and distracted by surroundings, then corrects the helper dog when the re-approach. 12/23, 24: Butters greets politely, is a bit anxious in the yard.
