I am a male br brindle and white pit bull. The shelter thinks I am about 2 YEARS old.

I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 10/30/2015 from NY 10459, owner surrender reason stated was MOVE2PRIVA.

10/31/15 09:22 Basic Information Busta was brought in as an owner’s surrender due to owner moving. Owner has had Busta since he was born after receiving him as a gift. Owner says as far as she knows Busta does not have any injuries or health concerns and when asked what she likes most about him owner chose how affectionate and cuddly he is. Personality & Behavior Busta is described as excitable, friendly, and playful with a very high activity level. Owner says she hasn’t socialized Busta much with people outside of his family. Busta lived with children ages 4, 9, and 15 and owner say she played with them exuberantly. Busta has not been around any other animals much. Busta is mostly house-trained, but owner says he has accidents in his kennel about once per day. Busta gets walked 2-3 times daily. According to owner, there have been no past issues of Busta biting anyone or another animal. Owner says Busta is unbothered when she attempts to touch his food and will continue eating at the same pace. Busta is friendly when owner attempts to take his treat or toy, and is trained not to get onto furniture. Busta is usually friendly and likes baths, and deals with getting nails trimmed. Busta is fine with being brushed. Busta normally barks when someone unfamiliar approaches home or owner. For a New family to Know Busta understands commands sit, stay, eat, and give paw. He enjoys playing with balls and stuffed toys. Busta was crate trained din the past and normally stays for about 8 hours at a time. When home Busta usually follows his owner, and is behaved when left home alone. Busta was fed Pedigree brand both wet and dry food, and normally slept in his kennel. Behavior during admissions: Busta accepted treats gently, jumped, sat and gave paw on command but he flinched when he was petted and showed whale eye. Busta became uncomfortable when collaring his body became tense, he showed whale eye and stared at me while collaring. Staff fed him treats by hand to comfort him. After he was collared he turned his head and smelled the scissors and immediately lunged twice and snapped at staff 3 times.

11/03/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Busta was difficult to remove from his kennel showing teeth, growling. Once he was removed from his kennel he walks calmly on leash. Busta was stiff and did not show social behavior during the assessment. Busta was uncomfortable when the behavior team tries to collar him he stands tall, and tries to look large. He wrinkles his muzzle to expose his front teeth and preparing to lunge forward. We decided to skip the handling part of the assessment for safety reasons. During the resources Busta was not interested toys Busta was surrender to us. His previous owner described Busta as excitable, friendly, and playful with a very high activity level. Owner says she hasn’t socialized Busta much with people outside of his family. Busta lived with children ages 4, 9, and 15 and owner say she played with them exuberantly. Busta has not been around any other animals much. Owner says Busta is unbothered when she attempts to touch his food and will continue eating at the same pace. Busta is friendly when owner attempts to take his treat or toy. He enjoys playing with balls and stuffed toys. Busta was crate training din the past and normally stays for about 8 hours at a time and is behaved when left home alone”. The behavior department feels that he would do best if placed with a New Hope partner who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification before placement into a permanent home. Toy 1: No interest.

11/03/2015 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Busta is uncomfortable with handling, so he is not able to be collared. When being walked on leash he will walk past another dog but does not acknowledge. Busta’s owner reports that he has not been around other animals much, so his behavior in home is unknown. The behavior department feels that a pre-adoption interaction is necessary before Busta goes to a home with another dog.
