04/03/15 10:59 Basic Information: Busta is a 6 year old unaltered American Pit Bull Terrier. The owner bought him as a puppy and he has lived in one home his whole life. He is being surrendered because the owner has lost her home and is moving to a place that does not allow dogs. He has no known injuries or health problems. The owner loves how much of a sweetheart he is with her. Social Life and Personality: Busta has not been around children, dogs, or cats. The owner believes that he would not be friendly based on his behavior around strangers. Busta growls and barks at anybody he does not know. Busta is house broken and does not have accidents in the home. He is kept mostly indoors. He has a medium activity. The owner describes Busta as playful, confident, excitable, and affectionate with her. Behavior: Busta is aggressive towards strangers. He barks, lunges, and growls. He is not bothered when his owner touches his food bowl when eating or takes away a bone or treat. He growls and snaps when the owner attempts to take away Busta’s ball. He likes to be bathed. He growls, snaps, barks, and lunges at stranger that come to her home and when people approach the owner. For a New Family to Know: Busta knows how to sit. He is used to leashed walks three times a day. He likes to play fetch and tug with balls and ropes. The owner tried to crate train Busta but he destroyed the crate. When his owner is home, he follows her around. When he hears loud noises such as storms or fireworks he barks. Intake Behavior: Busta was barking and growling at the people in the care center. The owner placed the collar on Busta and he was not scanned because of his reactivity.

Helper Dog:A1031766 Busta was brought in as a owner surrender, and the owner stated his behavior around children and other animal is unknown. Busta was reported to not do well with stranger and will bark and growl at them. He was said to be house broken has not had any accidents in the home. He was kept mostly indoors and was reported to have a medium activity. The owner describes Busta as playful, confident, excitable, and affectionate with her, and he is not bothered when his owner touches his food bowl when eating or taking away a bone or treat, but he growls and snaps when the owner attempts to remove his ball. At intake Busta was barking and growling at the people in the care center, and would not allow any handling. Busta displayed the same behavior seen at intake when approached in his kennel, but once the kennel was open he became fearful and retreated to the back. During SAFER Busta repeatedly attempted to exit the room, but after a few minutes he became comfortable enough to sit close to the assessor and allowed petting. He would not allow collaring, and became stiff and whale eyed when the assessor attempted to place the collar. Due to this behavior and safety concerns no handling items were completed and only resources and dog-dog were tested at this time. Food: No interest Toy 1: No interest. Rawhide: 1. No interest. Dog-dog: 2. Dog does not approach the helper dog, and attempts to exits.
