09/08/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
09/08/15 09:20 Burrito was brought into the care center by the police. When the counselor went to the police van, Burrito was sitting in a crate. When spoken to, Burrito started to wag his tail quickly and came to the front of the carrier. He was easily leashed and walked out of the van. He was taken out of the van and scanned for a microchip; during this Burrito urinated a little bit. When he walked into the care center, he tucked his tail. He was brought to the office. Once in the office, Burrito opened up. He solicited attention by jumping in the counselor’s lap. He soon attempt to mount but responded to correction from counselor with aggression. He maintained a loose body and wagging tail when collared and photographed.

09/10/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Burrito came in as a stray, so his past behaviors in a home are unknown. At intake Burrito attempted to mount but corrected by the counselor and maintain loose body posture, he allowed all handling. During SAFER Burrito came into the assessment room loose and wiggly, he was a bit social towards the assessor, not all handling items were able to be conducted as Burrito tried to bite the assessor during tag interaction. During the resources portion of the assessment on food, toy and rawhide items Burrito bit the assess-a-hand when attempting to take away the items. In light of this behavior we feel that placement with a rescue who can provide positive reinforcement-based behavior modification is the best option at this time. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 5. Dog growls or tries to bite. Food: 5. Dog tries to bite. Toy 1: 4. Dog freezes and growls. Rawhide: 5. Dog attempts to bite. Dog-to-dog: When off leash with other dogs Burrito is sexually motivated. He becomes frustrated when not able to mount and begins to growl at the other dog.
