A volunteer writes:
Bundles of what you ask? How about fun, friendship and love for everyone he meets! This beautiful boy appreciates play time and chases a ball with gusto but his true calling is socializing, especially with his fellow dogs, and it’s tail wags and big smiles all round as he greets new pals in the yard or the street.  Bundles lived in happy harmony with a canine sister and a 6-year-old human brother and is said to get along wonderfully with friends and strangers alike. Surrendered to our care when his owner was unable to afford urgent medical treatment for his urethral stones, Bundles is still feeling pretty fine and is keen to get outside, explore and (gradually) do his business. A nice leash walker and easy companion for a stroll through the park, he eagerly sniffs each and every leaf pile and sits on command to gently accept a treat from my hand. We’re told he has zero resource guarding issues and that certainly proves true during our game of fetch as he promptly drops the ball and steps away so I can throw again and again. Since puppyhood this gorgeous guy has known only the life of a beloved family pet and a dog of lesser spirit might be feeling pretty sad right now…but not Bundles! Instead of feeling sorry for himself he meets each day with an optimistic smile and a whole lot of hope. Described by those who know him best as ‘a big bundle of love’ who ‘loves to give kisses’, Bundles will make a wonderful addition to almost any dog-savvy home and he’s hoping a new family is going to find him real soon and give him all the vetting and TLC he deserves. Will you be the one to turn his hopes into reality?

RE-EXAM (11/01/15): BARH, urinating outside without blood. Bladder palpation wnl. A: h/o of bladder  stones as per o P: monitor urination, recc x-ray to confirm.

Meet Bundles:  Bundles is a bundle of love! According to his previous owner, he loves to play with children and dogs, and we have seen nothing but smiles from this pup since arriving in the shelter.  He does have stones in his urethra and we do recommend having him x-rayed to confirm the blockage, but it hasn’t stopped him from being a very friendly, outgoing boy.  Let Bundles show you what a great forever companion he can be!

PROFILE:

Basic Information: Bundles is an approx 3 year old APBT. He is being surrendered because the owner cannot afford vet bills. He received Bundles 3 years ago from a breeder. He states that 2 days ago Bundles started to strain while urinating. He took him to the vet on 10/29/2015 and was told that Bundles has stones in his urethra.

Socialization:  Bundles is very friendly and outgoing with strangers. He plays exuberantly with the owner’s 6 year old son. He loves to play with children and other dogs. He has not been around cats. He has not bitten anyone or any other animal.

Behavior: Bundles was walked 3 times a day. He loves to go outside for brisk walks. He is not bothered when trying to take his food bowl away. The owner states that his son can go around the food and even touch Bundles while eating and he does not react. He is not fond of baths but he does tolerate them.

For a new Family to know: Bundles is described as very friendly, playful, affectionate, a big bundle of love and loves to give kisses. He loves to play with his toys and there is also a female dog in the home that he loves to play with. He was being fed Merrick dry food and he slept on his dog bed. He pulls lightly on the leash and loves to go jogging.

Behavior during intake: Bundles was very friendly upon intake. He urinated in the lobby and appeared to be straining. A small amount of urine was seen. The owner said that that was the most he has urinated in the past couple of days. Bundles allowed to be scanned(-). collared and photographed and jumped up to greet staff members.

BEHAVIOR:

Bundles hasn’t had a behavior evaluation yet but his medical behavior is green and he was reportedly very friendly and tolerated all handling.
