04/07/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
04/07/15 11:55 Basic Info: Bulli is a 5 year old male dog who has no known injuries but does have an allergy to foods. Owner did not know what the allergy was but whenever human food (i.e. chicken) was given he would begin itching and would lick/bite until he bled. He was given up due to a land lord issue. Social Life and Personality: According to owner he has been around children from 1 years old and up and he is relaxed and playful with them but at times he does become a little rough when he plays because he will jump up onto the children and knock them over. He has the same behaviors around dogs and with cats he is relaxed and playful but is gentle with them. He is house trained, kept mostly indoors, and has a very high level of energy. Behaviors: He has not bitten anyone or any animal before. He was not bothered when owner took food, treats, bones, or toys away from him. He was not bothered when given a bath and is friendly when unfamiliar people approach the house or family member. New Family Info: He knows the commands sit, stay, and down. He is used to brisk walks on leash for exercise and will play with rope toys. He will follow owner around the home and is well behaved when left home alone. He is not bothered by loud noises such as fireworks or thunder and was fed dry food (2 cups a day of Science Diet). Intake Behaviors: During intake would approach extended hand, allow to be scanned (negative), collared, pictured, and leashed without aggression. When given treat would sniff but was not interested in eating. When touched had soft, relaxed body and would brush against hand for more attention.

A volunteer writes: Who has the world’s sunniest smile? It’s our Bulli, of course! Whether he’s playing ball in the backyard or enjoying a stroll at the park, Bulli’s goofy grin and thumpty-thump tail is sure to brighten your day. And it’s quite hilarious as he scoots underneath your legs when you’re sitting and wiggles his butt to get close when you’re scratching his back. You just want to smile and give him a big hug! According to his former family, Bulli knows a number of commands, is playful and gentle around other dogs and cats, and loves to play with rope toys. We’re also told he is friendly with strangers and playful with children – although a bit exuberant at times. Bulli is also house-trained, and well behaved when left home alone! What Bulli needs now is a new family to love; someone who shares his zest for life and who will fulfill his need for engaging walks. Given that Bulli’s former family also noted he might be allergic to certain human food (i.e. chicken), it might be wise to initially keep him on dog food, until his potential allergy issue can be dealt with properly. All in all, Bulli is a huge bundle of joy, a responsive dog that loves being part of a family. Let his silly grin be part of your life!
04/09/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Bulli pulls a bit on leash. He was sociable toward the handler during the assessment – soft body. He was calm and relaxed during handling. Bulli did a lot of jumping up; body checking while playing tag and played tug-of-war with the leash during tag interaction (was not difficult to distract him). He was not interested in food, toys or rawhide. Bulli was relaxed when approaching a friendly dog, but was not playful. Bulli was suurender to us. According to his previous ownerhe has been around children from 1 years old and up and he is relaxed and playful with them but at times he does become a little rough when he plays because he will jump up onto the children and knock them over. He has the same behaviors around dogs and with cats he is relaxed and playful but is gentle with them. Bulli during the tag interaction was a bit over aroused grabbing at the leash and body checking the assessor. The behavior department feels that he may do best with an experienced adopter who can follow up on this behavior. We also recommend a home without young children; older children can be considered pending interaction. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft or squinty, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag: 3. Dog responds with his tail high, ears forward, mouth likely closed for at least half of the assessment item, body stiff and body checks the Assessor. Dog is often focused on other stimuli in the room. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Food: 1. No interest. Toy 1. No interest. Rawhide 1. No interest. Dog – dog: 1. Dog approaches the helper, soft body, tail neutral, but not playful. Helper:A1032513
