PROFILE:
Basic information:
Bukowski is an approximately 6 yr. Shih Tzu mix. He has been brought in as a stray, the previous owner left him in front of a neighbor’s house and she does not want the dog. As per finder the dog appears to have and old injury on her stomach, it is not known if Bukowski has been seen by a vet. The finder only had the dog in her home for two days and kept him in a separate room from the rest of the family until she brought Bukowski to the shelter so the finder does not know how he in the home with the owner. As per finder Bukowski does not like to be around children, when the finder’s seven year old daughter attempted to play with him he growled and snapped at her when she got too close to the Bukowski’ s face (did not make contact and was kept away for the rest of the time in the home). The finder fed Bukowski Pedigree wet dog food 2 times a day. No other information could be given due to the limited handling.
Behavior during the intake:
During the intake, Bukowski was very tense with stiff body and retreated behind the finder when approached by staff member. Bukowski allowed to be scanned (-), photographed and placed the dog in the kennel with the assistance of the finder. We were unable to collar due to him constantly running and hiding from the collar even with the finders help
