04/22/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
The dog was very responsive upon calling. He appeared to be friendly and relaxed when people were giving him food and calling him. He was a bit shy when he was in the van but overall, very easy to handle. He walks well on the leash.

04/27/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: When I see your face, there’s not a thing that I would change…’cause you’re amazing…just the way you are’…Beautiful Bruno Mars naturally brings to mind the lyrics of his namesake and when it comes to this gentle and affectionate young dog truer words were never spoken – Bruno really IS amazing! His thick, silky coat and sad hound-ish face make you want to hold him tight and tell him everything will be okay but Bruno prefers petting and belly rubs to full-on hugs and when I call him he comes running over and immediately turns sideways to lean against my legs for petting – how sweet is that? Bruno sits on command and walks well on leash and he seems to be quite house trained too, using the facilities quickly once we step outside. He’s hungry for love and food in equal measure and when we sit down together he delicately snags the bag of treats from my back pocket and tugs it out as far as possible to let me know he’d like some more but stops short of actually eating them without permission – what a good boy! Other dogs are met with great fanfare and enthusiasm in the yard but he passes them without issue in the street and to judge by his wildly wagging tail, Bruno really does want to make some four-legged friends, he just needs a little guidance in how to make his approach. As sad as he looks in the Care Center, all Bruno needs to turn that frown upside-down is a dog-savvy home and a forever family as affectionate and gentle as himself. Just like his namesake says, ‘we find out what we’re made of when we’re called to help our friends in need’ and right now, Bruno Mars really needs a friend. Show him what you’re made of by reaching out a helping paw and Bruno Mars will show you a lifetime of unconditional love in return.

04/25/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Bruno Mars pulls a bit on the leash. He was excited but very interested in interacting with handler during assessment – jumped up. Bruno Mars was excited during some of the handling items, but had soft body language. Bruno Mars was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. He did not resist being handled while eating, and was easily pushed out of the food bowl. Bruno Mars took the toy away but had soft body language. He was not interested in rawhide. Bruno Mars rushed in quickly during the dog-dog test, but showed no aggression. Bruno Mars is an active dog he need a significant amount of exercise and mental stimulation. The behavior department feels that he can go to an experienced home. He needs an adopter who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification. Look: 3.
