Those eyes, those cheekbones, that golden fur…on a scale of 1 to swoon, Bruce has a face to make any woman (or man) weak at the knees and this girl is no exception! Once I recover from admiring his fabulous face it becomes clear that while Bruce may be looking his best, he’s not really feeling it right now. Going from a home to a kennel throws a lot of youngsters off balance and he’s anxious to get outside and start searching for a way back to the life he once knew. When not peering over the wall or bouncing along the fence line, Bruce is happy to accept my petting and share some smooches in return and he comes when called to politely eat treats or sit beside me on the bench. He’ll chase a ball if I throw one but never loses himself in the game and the only thing that seems to make his heart (and his voice!) sing is the presence of other pups. Bruce is a calm and apparently very house trained walker but the minute he spots another dog the pulling starts and I can almost hear him thinking Must…make…new…friend…
