SAFE 04/19/15 **** GREAT GUY NEEDS A HOME**** A volunteer writes: Let’s play! Thrilled to be outside, little Ms. Branshore is all about being a puppy, bouncing and prancing with all her little might. She loves chasing and dancing with soft toys, taking time out every so often to greet other dogs stopping by her play pen. She also loves treats – given time, she will sit nicely for them – and indulges in cuddles and kisses once she’s had time to expend her youthful energy. Being a bit of a sassy youngster, little Ms. Branshore might benefit from some leash training, but she does quite well when the leash is placed harness style. She could be house-trained as she went potty as soon as we were outside. So if you’re looking for an engaging and energetic puppy who needs an active family, this brindle princess might be the one for you!

04/06/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Branshore was excited but very interested in interacting with handler during assessment – jumped up, licked hands. She was excited during some of the handling items, but had soft body language. She was easily over aroused during tag; she was playful but repeatedly jumped up and mouthed the Assessor. She did not resist being handled while eating, and was easily pushed out of the food bowl. Branshore had no interest in the toys but settled down with the rawhide to chew and allowed it to be relinquished to the Assessor. Branshore came to the care center as a stray. She is an active, playful and mouthy dog; she may do best in an active home that can provide significant amount of physical and mental stimulation. Branshore is still an adolescent dog and needs an adopter that can provide her positive reinforcement training. The behavior department feels that she can go to an experience home. We also recommend a home without young children; older children can be considered pending interaction. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 2. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Or dog indicates exuberant play with huffing, soft ‘popping’ of the body, etc. Dog jumps on Assessor once play begins and mouths the Assessor with a bit of pressure applied. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Dog licks hand. Squeeze 2: 2. Dog gently places her open mouth over the Assessor’s hand without applying pressure. Food 1. Dog lifts head and ceases eating when you reach to pull the bowl away or push her out. Toy 1. No interest. Rawhide 1. Dog settles down close to chew, will relinquish rawhide to you. Dog – dog 1. Dog approaches the helper dog in play position. Her mouth is open. Helper Dog: A1030296
