09/16/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
09/16/15 17:57 Brady was left tethered outside his home after his owner was arrested. His finder has seen him on walks and reports that he’s been relaxed, friendly, and playful with her medium-sized female dog. He was social, relaxed, and friendly with his finder and responsive to her while she walked him here. Brady had a soft body during handling-scan (-), collar, petting, positioning for pictures, and putting into a kennel. He wagged his tail while we talked to and pet him. He took treats nicely and allowed me to pick him up to put him in his kennel. He maintained a soft body during his exam and vaccines.
09/24/2015 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Don’t tell the other dogs, but I saved the best for last! What a perfect end to my day. Brady is chill, loves to snuggle, never stops gently wagging his tail, and was so grateful for the opportunity to go outside and pee…which he did endlessly…he’d been holding it for a long time! He pulls on the leash a bit as we walk to the park, but his wagging tail attests to his enjoyment of our outing and I was so happy to be able to make him happy. He wagged his tail at every person we passed and it was clear he wanted to make friends with all. A little social butterfly our Brady! Off leash in the backyard he politly greeted another dog through the gate, and in group he’s tolerant, takes correction if needed, and isn’t too playful as of this writing. Brady may never have been allowed on the furniture where he lived before so it took some coaxing to get him to join me on the bench, and when he did it was only half of him. But that half proved to be a super snuggler and I took what I could get. He’s so great! Brady has a little skin issue which we are treating, and good nutrition and better care than he had before joining us should help him heal. He’s an awesome dog whose owner ran into some difficulties and had to leave him behind. His loss should be your gain, so take advantage of this opportunity to make Brady a part of your family. It will be the best decision you’ve made in a while:) Another volunteer writes: Brady was a wonderful companion on our walk. He was gentle, kind, and curious about his environment. He enjoyed sniffing and strolling, and appeared interested in other dogs and people that passed by wagging his tail. He is easygoing and mellow, which is just perfect for a snuggly and sweet dog like Brady. And who can resist those eyes! He is truly a treasure, I hope you will come see this for yourself by visiting him at the shelter!
09/20/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Brady walked nicely on leash, was sociable toward the handler during the assessment – soft body, low wag. He was calm and relaxed during handling. He engages in play, loose body, wags tail, mouth is open. Brady did not resist being handled while eating, and was easily pushed out of the food bowl. He briefly engaged with the toy but quickly lost interest and had minimal interest in rawhide. Brady was brought to the care center as a stray; upon intake he had a soft body and allowed all handling to be conducted. Brady’s finder stated he was relaxed, friendly, and playful with her medium-sized female dog. Throughout the assessment, Brady remained friendly towards the assessor and showed no behavioral concerns. The Behavior Department feels he can go to an average home. Look: 1.
