I absolutely adore Bosco but even I must admit, his walking style leaves a lot to be desired and my first thought as we literally raced out to the yard was ‘what did I sign up for here?!!’ Turns out that what I’d signed up for was a date with the BEST fetcher ever! While he’s clearly had zero training when it comes to being on leash, in every other respect Bosco’s worked very hard to perfect his tricks and it’s so endearing to see him literally quiver with anticipation as he sits to wait for a treat or a throw of the ball. I can dangle a prize in front of his face and still he waits for it to leave my hand before snapping the snack from the air or racing after the ball. Like a boomerang, no sooner has he caught it than he’s back at my side, chomping a little before dropping it either on command or of his own accord. If I sit down to throw he returns right to my lap to chew then nudges the ball toward me while looking up with hopeful eyes…do I see that he’s ready for another round? Yes, Bosco, I did notice your handsome head and slobbery ball on my lap, thank you! He could play for hours but it’s another toasty day and as he’s already done all his ‘business’, we head back inside for a nice long drink before my good boy returns to his den and lets me swap the tennis ball for a brand new chew toy. Personality plus is what you’ll get when you welcome Bosco into the family and his endearing combination of loving affection, happy energy and unconditional loyalty would make him the apple of any dog-savvy adopter’s eye. So…who’s up for another game of fetch?
