03/26/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Boogie walks with a fearful body language; he is scare of any noise in the shelter. During the assessment he was uncomfortable with handling Boogie does his best to look small, his body looks hunched, with his tail tucked between his rear legs and his ears flattened back. He cowers close to the ground. He look directly at the assessors and continues to cower but at the same time Boogie shows his teeth and gives a low growl then he snaps quickly, and then he retreats away from the assessor. For safety reason we skip the handling part of the assessment. During the resources he does not show any interest in the food, toy or rawhide. Boogie was relaxed when approaching a friendly dog, but was not playful. The behavior department feels that he would do best if placed with a New Hope partner who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification before placement into a permanent home. Look: 5. Dog growls and snap. Food: 1. No interest. Toy 1. No interest. Rawhide 1. No interest. Dog – dog: 1. Dog approaches the helper, soft body, tail neutral, but not playful. Helper: A1028416
