Behavior: Experienced Home
Bonham previously lived with two adults and four teenagers. The owner stated around children he is relaxed and tolerant. The owner mentioned Bonham is partially housetrained and will have accidents indoors in between walks, he has a very high activity level and when home alone he will tend to destroy furniture and house hold items.
During SAFER Bonham came into the assessment room loose and wiggly, he was friendly and social towards the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Bonham was relaxed during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Bonham was easy to handle when engaged with the items. Bonham pulls strongly on the leash may require leash training, also Bonham appears to be a high-energy dog that will likely do best with an adopter prepared to provide mental and physical stimulation and appropriate outlets for his energy. According to the owner profile which states Bonham can be destructive in the household when left alone for a long period of time; due to this behavior we feel he would need to have regular exercise and mental stimulation such as Kongs stuff with treats and training. The department feels he can be suitable for an experienced adopter.
