09/11/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
09/11/15 19:35 Bobolink was found by police tethered with a very short leash (<1ft). Police used a catch pole to put him in their van. He bit the pole and sustained injuries to his face. When he arrived, his face was bleeding. I approached him in the rear seat. He raised his lips. I tossed him treats and his body relaxed. He sniffed me and took treats from me. I attempted to leash him, but he raised his lips again. He snapped at the catch pole once as we put it on him. We moved him to the transport van with the pole and he walked with us. He allowed us to lift him into the van.

09/15/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Bobolink was difficult to remove from his kennel showing teeth, growling and grabbing at the rope. He did not show any social behavior. Once he was out of the kennel he was and was grabbing the leash in a challenging behavior (growled, snarled, and snapped), and did not calm down easily. The behavior team decided to place him back in his kennel he was difficult to handle. Due to the behavior demonstrated in the shelter the behavior department believes that Bobolink is not an appropriate candidate for SAFER. The behavior department feels that he would do best if placed with a New Hope partner who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification before placement into a permanent home.
