12/09/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Bobby previously lived with 1 adult and has only been around one child. The owner stated Bobby is mostly kept separated from the child. The owner mentioned Bobby does not allow his food bowl, toys or treats to be touched, he will growl and attempt to bite. The owner describes Bobby as playful, pushy and affectionate. It was reported by the owner Bobby is house trained, has a low activity level and well behaved when home alone. At intake it was reported Bobby was tense, but did allow all handling with a slow approach. During SAFER Bobby came into the assessment room anxious and panting, he was not interested with the assessor, not all handling items were able to be conducted as Bobby freezes and growled at the assessor on the Look item. He displayed no interest in any of the resource items during this portion of the assessment. In light of this behavior we feel that placement with a rescue who can provide positive reinforcement-based behavior modification is the best option at this time. Look: 5. Dog freezes and growls. Toy 1: No interest. Dog-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Bobby greets the other dogs politely. He may become sexually motivated with some dogs.
