A volunteer writes: We humans have a lot to learn from animals….despite the hardships inflicted on them at our hands they are forgiving, loving, happy for attention and still love us. Bobby and his litter mate Eboni (A1044715) and their mom, Connie (A1044713) join us emaciated and neglected. Bobby is weary…every rib bone shows, every knot in his spine is evident, his hip bones jut out and his nails are overgrown. Yet, he wags his tail softly as I pet him and is happy to lie in my lap, closing his eyes and giving in to the good feeling. He’s exhausted from the sheer will to survive and
grateful for the attention as I place him in my lap and stroke him. He wanders the pen a bit, greeting a dog on the other side of the fence but is happy to go back inside to sleep. Sleep is healing and what he needs now is a quiet place to rest. He’ll need several small meals every day until he gains weight and his body condition improves. He’s an awesome little guy whose life has been unfairly harsh until now. He’s looking for help and we can do it. We’re rooting for the entire family who do not need to leave together but all need equal help. Are you up to the task of showing this little guy what love is all about?
