Medical Summary scanned negative male neueterd 8 years old ~ eetn-no eye or nasal discharge -ears wnl -severe gingivitis and tartar skin-no fleas noted, some generalized alopecia barh nosf
Weight 13.0

BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE: Bobby appeared to be friendly & allowed handler to scan & collar. Bobby tolerated petting & all other handling. Dog appeared to have labored breathing upon intake.

VET CHECK  – LABORED BREATHING ON INTAKE NOTED

BARH. ALLOWED ALL HANDLING.  BCS 6/9, MODERATE DENTAL TARTAR/GINGIVITIS, EYES CLEAR, NO OCULAR OR NASAL DISCHARGE, EARS WNL, GRADE 4/6 HEART MURMUR, NO CRACKLES OR WHEEZES IN LUNG FIELDS – NO COUGHING, NORMAL ABDOMINAL PALPATION, INTEG WNL, AMBULATORY X 4, NEUTERED MALE

A: SENIOR DOG, HEART MURMUR, DENTAL TARTAR, HEAVY BREATHING ON INTAKE – RULE OUT NERVOUS BEHAVIOR ON INTAKE VS EARLY SIGNS OF HEART DISEASE VS OTHER

P: RECOMMEND FULL SENIOR WORK UP WITH CARDIOLOGY CONSULT WITH PLACEMENT.  CONTINUE TO MONITOR WHILE AT BACC.  FAIR PROGNOSIS

BASIC INFORMATION: Bobby is a 8 yr old neutered maltase/poodle mix. Bobby was given to owner as a gift 7 yrs ago & has no known health issues but may be overweight & will tire easily if he is walked in excess. Client surrendered Bobby due to a residential move to a residence that does not allow dogs.

SOCIALIZATION: Booby is very relaxed & playful around strangers. Bobby allows strangers to pet him and enjoys being pet. Bobby plays gently with adults & children. He has been exposed to children ages 4 & up. Bobby tolerates small children. Bobby has not lived with other dog, cats or small animals. When Bobby is walked outside he does not display aggressive behavior towards other animals. Bobby has never bitten anyone or another animal.

BEHAVIOR: Bobby allows his food or bowl touched while eating. Booby enjoys getting bathed & will allow  owner to groom & trim his nails.

FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW: Bobby is best described as a playful, affectionate & friendly dog. He has a medium activity level. Bobby enjoys going out to the park  &  play with stuffed toys. When owner is home, Bobby tends to follow owner around & be in the same room. Bobby would do best in a family home. He has been kept mostly indoors & enjoys eating both wet & dry food 2 X per day. Bobby loves fruits and home cooked food as well. Bobby is house trained & tends to go potty on grass areas. when left alone in the home, Bobby i swell behaved. He has never been crate trained & is familiar with the commands sit & stay. Bobby will only pull when he is excited. When off the leash Bobby will stay by owners side.
