I am a male blue and white pit bull mix. The shelter thinks I am about 7 MONTHS old.

I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 07/14/2015 from NY 11236, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

07/14/15 13:17 Basic Information: Blue is a one year old pit bull mix. He was brought to us as a stray, found in a building. Behavior durimg Intake: Blue walked around and sniffed everything, he liked to eat our treats out of our hand and knows how sit for treats when asked. He would lay on the floor and liked have his back and head scratched. He had a wigly body with wagging tail and open mouth. When around other dogs he did growl, bark and lunge.

A volunteer writes: Big paws, big smiles and a big puppy heart are baby Blue’s calling cards, and wherever he goes, laughter and happiness are sure to follow! Playful and bouncy with people and dogs alike, he doesn’t have a mean bone in his beautiful body, and no one’s keener to make new friends than Blue. In playgroup, he’s full of fun, and spreads the love all around (especially with the ladies), and though in general he walks fairly well on leash, show him a fellow dog and enthusiasm for this potential pal will give his feet wings! Blue is bright and attentive and responds promptly to my voice. He seems to be house trained and already knows how to sit on command and take treats like a pro. Everyone loves a puppy, and with a gentle guiding hand and plenty of playtime, Blue will grow into a beautiful adult adored by all who meet him. Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Blue came to us as a stray on 7/14/15. Upon intake it was reported that Blue had soft and loose body language, and allowed all handling. He was very interested in interacting with the assessor when entering the behavior room and had soft body language. Blue allowed the assessor to conduct all tactile assessment items while maintaining soft body language. He did mouth the assessor during the sensitivity portion of the assessment but did not apply pressure. Blue did not resist being handled while eating, and was easily pushed out of the food bowl. He grabbed the toy away from the assessor strongly but had soft and loose body language. The behavior department believes that Blue can go to a home that has an average amount of dog experience. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 2. Dog repeatedly turns toward the Assessor’s hand, with loose body and open mouth, mouths the hand, but does not apply pressure. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. He indicates play with huffing, soft ‘popping’ of the body, etc. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2:1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Food: 2. Dog follows the dish with his tail down, body soft. Dog lifts head after a bit of pressure from hand to cheek. Toy 1: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. When off leash with other dogs, Blue is stiff and barking at the gate so he is muzzled. Once in the pen, he eventually greets the other dog politely and the muzzle is removed. Blue initially avoids interaction then becomes more comfortable and solicits play, engaging in rough play with the helper dog. 7/18 update: Blue greets well at the gate, maintaining a loose body and wagging tail. He is sexually motivated but responds well to correction. 7/19 update: Blue is bouncy and playful but may attempt to assert himself over anothe energetic male. 7/21 update: Blue is social, greets politely and may engage in play briefly.
