A volunteer writes:
Handsome Blue  is with us as his owner could not afford a pet anymore. He has been beautifully cared for inside and out…and comes with excellent testimonial from his former family. He lived and  was best friend  with a female Min Pin, was tolerant of cats and played gently and or exuberantly with other pooches, people and children…He is said to be quite lively and active, very talkative,  housetrained and crate trained. He would not be destructive or have handling issues. Blue is calm in his kennel and comes right away as I open his door.  He walks with poise on the leash(I am pleasantly surprised), marks a little his territory and meets proudly but in a civil way other dogs in the street or the yard. He notices the birds but does not pry on them or chase them. He seems taken aback and tenses up when I put a scarve around his neck or when a dog is barking suddenly at him. Reassuring words and some petting make him fall back on his feet. It must be so hard to be severed from home and family,  keep afloat and even be nice, sociable and friendly… Shelter dogs teach us every day…. Blue is a young man, only eight months of age, really good looking, well mannered, with already some training on board and quite pleasant to spend time with.  He is now waiting at the Manhattan Care Center to meet you, please you and become the forever best friend you were dreaming of.

Another volunteer writes:
Seeing is believing…Blue’s owner told us that he was good and loved to play with other dogs. Well, I had the opportunity to verify this allegation. Blue was in a playgroup with other dogs and had the time of his life, so did his partners…It was so beautiful to see him running and “dancing’ with his friends…Blue is a great boy who aced his behavioral evaluation at the care center. He was and will make a top of the line canine companion …
