Profile
Basic Information:
Blue is a 15 year old Pekingese. The owner got Blue from his prevous owner as a puppy and is being surrender the owner has come across a hard time and has to move in with a family member tht does not want to house her dogs any longer. Blue would see the vet regularly and has no known injuries or health problems. The owner says that her favorite thing about Blue is how playful he is and his personality.
Social Life and Personality:
Blue has lived with an infant and been around young children. He is relaxed and tolerant of children. He is gentle during play with the children as well. He has lived with another dog and is gentle during play. Blue has not been around cats. Blue is house trained but has random accidents indoors. He has a medium activity level and the owner describes him as playful, confident, excitable, affectionate, mellow, and friendly.
Behavior:
Blue has never bitten a person or another animal. He will someone touchse her food bowl, takes away bones, rawhides, or treats. He is not bothered being bathed, having her nails, trimmed, being brushed, woken up , or when people approach her home or family.
For a New Family to Know:
For excerise, Blue is let out to play in a fenced in yard 3 times a day. He doesn’t play with toys or any dog games like fetch or tug. He has been crate trained. The longest she has been in the carrier is 3 hours. When the owner is home he follows her around. He is well behaved when in the home or when left in the yard. He hides from loud noises such as thunder or fireworks. He eats about 1/2 cup of dry purina dog food 2x a day. He always sleeps with Pebbles (the dog he lives with).
Intake Behavior:
Blue panted throughout the intake process. He began to whine a few mintues after his owner left. He allowed handling and solicted attention when approached. He did not show aggressive behaviors.
