I am a neutered male brown and white chihuahua sh mix. The shelter thinks I am about 5 YEARS old.
I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 05/27/2015 from NY 11385, owner surrender reason stated was MOVE2PRIVA. I came in with Group/Litter #K15-015578.

05/27/15 14:20 Basic Info: Biscuit is a 5 year old neutered dog who has no known injuries or medical problems. Social life and Personality: According to owner he is relaxed and playful around children and when he plays it is exuberant to slightly rough. He has not been around other dogs so his behaviors are unknown but he lived with 2 cats (A1037742 Beauty and A1037744 Minnie) and was relaxed, affectionate, and respectful to them. He is house trained by using newspapers and kept mostly indoors. Behavior: He has not bitten anyone or any animal before. He will growl and snap if owner took away bones, rawhides, or other treats but was not bothered when food or toys were taken away. He is not bothered when given a bath but will sometimes be fearful and shakes while it is done and he enjoys being brushed. When unfamiliar people approach the house or family member he will be fearful, bark deeply but once he has spent time with them in the home he will become friendly. New Family info: He knows the sit command and is used to slow walks on leash. He will play with squeaky toys and has never been crate trained. He is well behaved when left home alone and is not bothered by loud noises. He is used to dry food. Intake Behavior: During intake Biscuit would retreat from extended hand but slowly approached and allowed to be scanned (negative), collared, pictured, and leashed without aggression. When owner left would whine and sit by admission counselor’s side.

Biscuit is fearful of the shelter environment he walks with a low and fearful body language. He was shy but friendly during the assessment – low body and tail, but trying to stay close. Biscuit had a low body position during the tag test, but followed the assessor at the end of the leash. He was not interested in food, toys or rawhide. Biscuit does not approach other dog, attempts to exit. Biscuit was surrender to us. According to owner he is relaxed and playful around children and when he plays it is exuberant to slightly rough. He has not been around other dogs so his behaviors are unknown but he lived with 2 cats (A1037742 Beauty and A1037744 Minnie) and was relaxed, affectionate, and respectful to them. The owner stated that he will growl and snap if owner took away bones, rawhides, or other treats but was not bothered when food or toys were taken away. Biscuit is fearful of the shelter noises and tries to hide behind the handler or object (desk).The behavior department feels that he may do best with an experienced adopter. This dog is somewhat fearful and needs time to warm up and an adopter who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment. Because of her owner profile we also recommend a home without children Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, shy body language, mouth closed, lip long, ears likely back, may lip lick. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body low and a bit fearful. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Food. No interest. Toy 1. No interest. Rawhide 1. No interest. Dog-dog: 2.
