08/06/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Bentley came into the care center as a stray, so we do not have any information on his past behaviors in a home. During SAFER Bentley was social, but was more interested in his surroundings. He allowed the assessor to conduct all handling items without issue, and was playful during the tag interaction. During the resources potion of the assessment Bentley became stiff and could not be pushed out of the food bowl. He was not interested in the toys and when engaged with the rawhides, his body was soft, but did not relinquish the rawhide to the assessor. Bentley appears to be social, but did display some concerns on the food item, so the department recommends an experienced adopter. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is open for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are back. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are back. Food: 3. Dog follows the dish, his tail is down en his legs, ears are forward. His body is stiff. Dog does not lift his head from the bowl when hand is applied to his cheek. Toy 1: No interest. Rawhide: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. He does not place his body between you and the rawhide. Dog-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Bentley is social and engages in rough play with playful females. He may become sexually motivated but takes correction well.
08/05/2015 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
When off leash with other dogs, Bentley is social and engages in rough play with playful females. He may become sexually motivated but takes correction well. 8/6 update: Bentley engages in running play with a solicitous female but. He eventually becomes sexually motivated but responds to correction. He becomes stiff and lunges at a social male through the gate, so he is not introduced.
