BENJIE – A1057829

A volunteer writes:

Benjie was a greeter in playgroups when I first met him. What a great dog and so good at his job!!! Playful with willing dogs, tolerant of pushy ones ,  gentle  with uncomfortable pooches and  very much a gentleman when it comes to doggygirls….A dream….I had my chance at meeting him personally , of course and enjoyed every bits of our time together.  Benjie  is super cute, tubby, a wigglebutt, a pooch full of good energy and endowed with the most wonderful smile and sparkling eyes. His tail wags non stop and he does not loose one minute when asked to come on the lap. He will nestle in the arms of his caretaker and ask for kisses. Benjie is a good walker and seems very much house trained.. He can sit on command and takes food properly from my hand. He meets other dogs in a very civil way on the street. Benjie  has been so well cared for, looks so healthy and wears the shiniest oreo coat. He was left with us as his family moved out of the country and comes with glowing recommendations. He lived with a newborn and was very protective of him. Benjie is a very sociable young dog and even after he said good by to his former owners, jumped on the counselor to show affection and rolled on his back for belly rubs… How is that?  Benjie is so worth to meet and greet…Come to the Manhattan Care Center and ask to spend some time with him in the yard. Let’s hope for a match and the beginning of a wonderful friendship..

Another volunteer writes:   Ask anyone about Benji and be prepared for the chorus of ‘awwwwww, I LOVE Benji’!   Said in many different ways, the meaning is clear, Benji is a staff and volunteer favorite!  A rockstar in play group, he loves belly rubs, wagging his tail, cuddling with his human friends, going for nice walks, and then another belly rub.   Fun, friendly, well socialized and so very handsome, Benji is patiently waiting for his forever person or family to walk in the door, point to him and say, “he’s coming home with me”.   If you’re lucky, that person will be you!
